I’m sorry to hear that you had a bad injury and a rough recovery last year. This is all a surprise to me because I knew you as a vital woman and a fierce athlete traveling to tournaments around the country. While I am “only” 73 I’ve been recognizing what I call “a shrinking life”. We get more and more invisible to the younger people. You call it narrowing. We would all chose to die painlessly in our sleep at 90 after an exciting day doing our life-long favorite activities. But the way we leave isn’t a choice. You’re fortunate and wise to get yourself into a good place for a narrowing life. Perhaps you and your wife have more years to find enjoyment there. I hope so.

Loss of functional reserve…that is what I call it( being a critical care nurse). Happens to all of us. As we age, we have a decreasing ability to respond to physical trauma. So, the least little fall in the bathroom shower sidelines us for months. No fun, as you can attest to. With that…our emotional, spiritual state is an entirely different…another story. You can be at the highest level of fitness based on your faith journey. IN what you ask?! You speak about moving into a smaller place where you have assistance, etc., to help with daily living tasks, etc. etc. You are planning ahead for what may lie ahead. That is good planning. Well done! Plan for your next life’s steps on who dies first, then what. Who then manages the left overs, etc. So… my question is. “what happens to you one minute after you die?” Just asking. How do you plan for that? You can plan for that step just as well as you are planning your move back to Pennsylvania now. Maybe you have? Everything is in place so that all is left is to physically die. The End. You have only a short time to accept the gospel or to reject the gospel. Why do you keep fighting that? Are you afraid of dying? If you are, then why? There is no name besides Jesus, son of God who said that so ever who believes in him will live again, eternally! No man, no one in the history of mankind has claimed that. Why not take a chance? If I believed in coming back as a caterpillar versus being a living being in the likeness of angels in heaven, then I am choosing the heaven route! Hello? If you believe that you are recreated into something elseMaybe you aren’t and it is just me being so confident in my faith that to die is gain. I just want you to be sure of where you are going after you die….and, it is in the faith and the knowledge of Jesus Christ, Son of God, who was crucified on a cross for mankind’s sins, that if ONLY we believe we will be forever at the Wedding Feast of the Lamb of God. Jesus marked history with A.D. and B.C. WHO else has our very history and our time been based upon??? I’m praying for you….even if I am wrong, I am still on the side of LIFE AFTER DEATH….and many are fearful of death….for…the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to those of us being saved, it is the power of God. AMEN. 1 Corinthians 1:18
